PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Kyle Brennan's Qualifications
Complex Hitting Coach, Houston Astros
Jan 2023 - Present
Kyle is the player development point man for the complex's injured position players, ranging from Major League long-term rehabs to the acute FCL injury. Meeting daily with medical and S&C rehab coordinators, the team meticulously plans appropriate skill work progressions and creates daily individualized schedules for each player in coordination with their needs and complex activities.
During practice, Kyle's main focus with the rehabbing players is as a hitting coach, but he also works extensively with throwing return to play/optimization and catching defense. Kyle will also aid in IF/OF defense early in the return-to-play process.
In addition to maximizing skill development for rehabbing players, Kyle works on cross-departmental initiatives tangential to the hitting department, most notably with Performance Science, Sports Medicine, and Innovation.
